The launch of The KLBD – UK Really Jewish Food Guide app will allow users to have immediate and up-to-date access to a comprehensive list of some 8000 kosher and non kosher foods, establishments, medicines and cleaning products.

The app, produced by Arta Creative Solutions under license from the United Synagogue and KLBD (Kashrut Division of the London Beth Din) also features a list of all London Beth Din certified restaurants, cafes, caterers, bakers, butchers and delis. The app allows users to select their chosen establishment, locate them on a map and call them directly from their iPhone as well as email establishments and browse their websites.

Commenting on the launch, Rabbi Jeremy Conway, KLBD Kashrut Director said: “This is a hugely exciting venture for the Jewish community as we find ways to integrate Jewish traditions within the framework of modern lifestyles.

The UK has seen a tremendous increase in kosher facilities across the community and a huge rise in demand for instant access and information. We have worked hard to meet these challenges and make sure everyone has access to the latest information on kashrut at their fingertips.”
