Aduna Launches its Third Superfood

Aduna Launches its Third Superfood

29 February 2016

Launched in 2012, the Aduna retail range leads the way for the healthy product innovation.

Aduna products are the world’s first premium African inspired foods. The three ingredients, Baobab, Moringa and Super-Cacao, have all been noted as essentials for health and beauty regimes. The experts agree. Beauty Shortlist presented Aduna’s Baobab Super Fruit Raw Energy Bar the award for ‘Best Healthy Snack or Food Bar.’

Unlike other beauty products these not only benefit the individual consumer but also the wider community. Aduna operates as a social business, using the production of Baobab, Moringa and Super-Cacao to provide women in Africa with a sustainable income. Most women have seen their annual income rise from £12 to £131. These significant economic advantages benefit the entire community, improving their overall quality of life and standard of living. For example, they are now able to provide three meals a day for their children and give them the opportunity to attend school.

In the short time since Aduna was founded, in the UK by Andrew Hunt and Nick Saltes, the brand has seen significant growth. This is likely due to its active new product development strategy. Aduna aims to launch a new product every three to six months. Shortly after introducing the powders, Aduna unveiled a range of energy bars and most recently, January 2016, the Super Cacao powder was launched. The cacao powder is the first of its kind to have an EFSA approved health claim and is predicted to be the must-have superfood of 2016.

Fans of the products will have to keep an eye out to see what is coming next.

The forward thinking brand recognises and respects its African heritage and the diversity on its botanicals. This is illustrated through the unique and vibrant packaging which aims to highlight the heritage and tell the story of the ingredients.

February 2016 marks Aduna’s one year anniversary of KLBD kosher certification. Aduna’s products are the only kosher certified retail product currently available in the UK. All of Aduna’s products are kosher certified and KLBD hopes to continue to provide kosher certification as new products are launched.

Aduna already exports to 15 countries including Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, the Mediterranean and Central Europe.

In addition to the Beauty Shortlist prize Aduna has won Great Taste and UK Business Angels Association awards, was shortlisted for The Guardian’s Sustainable Business Awards and was a finalist for Pitch to Rich awards.

Baobab and Moringa are available in powders (four sizes) or energy bars. The Super Cacao can be bought in 100g, 200g, or 275g tubs of powder. They also have gift boxes and bundles for purchase.
