Food and drink industry participants were out in force at Bellavita 2015. This was the largest trade show in the United Kingdom dedicated to the glorious foods and wines of Italy.
For hundreds of years, UK consumers have had an appetite for Italian pastas, wines and deserts, particularly ice creams. Italian producers have known for a long time that getting the ‘kosher certified’ badge on their products will help to reach more markets. In Europe, the United Kingdom currently stands as the third largest market for Italian food and drinks.
Imports of Italian food and drink products into the United Kingdom have a value of around €2.5 billion a year, and such imports are increasing at an annual rate of approximately five percent a year. In line with this, kosher certification is becoming increasingly important to satisfy consumers who seek the assurance of quality that kosher certification brings.
